
Emma Lynn
Emma Lynn is currently a PhD student in the Clinical Psychology program at the University of Ottawa under the supervision of Dr. Andrew Nicholson. Her research focuses on developing a better understanding of the neural mechanisms of trauma and stress. Prior to starting her PhD, Emma completed a MSc in Neuroscience under the supervision of Dr. Natalia Jaworska and Dr. Verner Knott at the University of Ottawa, where she studied cognitive impairment in remitted depression using multimodal neuroimaging. Since completing her master’s degree, Emma has worked for a regional coordinated mental health access program - AccessMHA - at the Royal, then transitioned to work in the rare disease public health space at Canada’s Drug Agency and the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, where she developed skills in participatory community research, large-scale longitudinal data registries and qualitative research, and developed a keen interest in the interaction between physical and mental health.
